Edies Luncheonette - Little Silver, NJ
This place deserves an up to date review. After searching for a "Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives" type place in Monmouth County for a few years, I think I've finally found it. Edies is a great local spot with delicious food, both breakfast and lunch.
Ive been to Edies twice in the last month, once for the famous reuben and once for the famous pancakes.
Over the past few years ive become a reuben aficionado. I try to get one every place I go and I am constantly in search of "the best." A friend recommended going to Edies to try theirs out. The corn beef was thick cut and full of flavor. The rye bread was toasted perfectly enough to absorb the thousand island and stay firm. The kraut and thousand island added the perfect finishing touch on this classic sandwich. 4 out of 5 for this reuben.
Im not much of a breakfast guy, but after reading reviews about the pancakes I had to try them. Fluffy and perfect. The pancakes were very good. That is very hard for me to say. I would go back time and time again just for them. Apparently the French Toast is even better. I will let you know when I go again.
Oh and the hash browns are great too. Service was good. Place is real tiny. Parking is on the street.
